Media Frenzy

Who could have predicted   that this story would become a national news story.  A Yahoo! search for 'Rick James signs' turns up over 933,000 sites!  After all...it's only about a couple of hundred yard signs taken by Rick James fans during a political campaign!  But, is there more to it than this?  I think this is a classical 'Take Five, America!'   Life does not always have to be so serious.   Our world and our families are faced with one crises after another.   This just happened to be a story that a majority of people can identify with . . . probably because of the dichotomy of a deceased funk legend and a humble business man

Dave Chapelle as Rick James

 on "Chapelle's Show"

working to make his city a better place. Of course, Dave Chappelle is great at turning the world on it's ear and he's done it again with his renditions of the 'super freaky' music icon in his weekly "Chapelle's Show" airing on Comedy Central.  America, we laugh with you!  "I feel like I've been punked!" Rick was quoted as saying this weekend.   Managing the media can be pretty stressful, especially if you're technically 'unemployed', a week away from the primaries and unable to keep signs in yards.  However, if you look hard enough, you can usually find some redeeming value in even the worst of situations.  The interest among young people in registering to vote AND actually going to the polls on election day was spurred because they found a segway to become involved.   Now, if we can just find a way to get the adults to the polls in what is predicted to be a banner year for low voter turnout.
