Join with Rick James on Saturday, August 6, 2005, in the "ONE MAN MARCH" to register people to vote across the United States.

Low voter turnout has plagued this country for the past two decades.   The right to elect those who govern us on both national and local levels is a privilege that many around this world do not enjoy.

When you are denied this right, you are ruled by unscrupulous men, as they are the ones willing to fight their way to a position of leadership and power, usually with much bloodshed and a total lack of regard for human life, let alone the living conditions of the people in the region.

Our soldiers have defended our freedoms for 200 years on domestic and foreign soil.  Many have given their lives to ensure that America remains a free country, for their families, friends and the generations who will follow.

We can't let apathy rob us of our voice in our governing bodies.  Failure to use your right to vote says that you don't think that you should have any say in who governs you.

When you accept this responsibility, you take an active role in determining the leadership for your city, state and country.

It is important to learn about the candidates in every election, to decide who you feel is the best candidate and go to the polls to cast your vote for that person.  If enough people vote for a good candidate, that candidate has the opportunity to  lead and to make sound decisions that affect you and your family, your city or state, your quality of life, financial issues, healthcare, taxes, roads, power.

Failure to exercise your right to vote, however, has the opposite effect.  It sets the stage for ruthless, greedy, dishonest people to win the elections by payoffs, empty campaign promises and other ruthless measures.

GET OUT THE VOTE, AMERICA!   Join with me on Saturday, August 6, and help register voters around America.

Please contact me if you would like to get involved.
